Doodle Design...

This doodle is typical of many I've done. I start with a squiggle and fill in the areas. It always turns out unexpectedly and I don't plan ahead.

Image A is an outline. I first made a light sketch with a pencil just to get an idea of where to put the ink. A very quick process.

Image B I outlined in ink, somewhat following the pencil outline, then began to fill in areas as the muse moved.

By the time I'm at Image C, I'm stumped at what to do next. So, I remind myself the world doesn't revolve around this image and press on.

By image D I'm starting to relax. It may just turn out okay after all.

Image E, down to the finish line
